A METROPOLITAN GARDEN IN A SNOWY DAY

There was a snow of 27cm in Tokyo last friday. I went to a metropolitan garden named Rikugien in friday morning
It is located very near from our house.  It takes about 5 or 6 minutes by walking.

We can see this garden by You Tube.    Rikugien  Unfortunately ita was autumn season video.

This garden was covered with snow.

A Stone lantern.

This is a snow ptotecting rope equipment. It's very useful in this day.

A cherry blossom tree.

A Japanese white apricot tree.

A Japanese red apricot tree.

Fatsia shrubs.

A camellia japonica flower.

Canon ,Nikon and Olympus.

Canon INC was at first named Kwanon,Kwanon means the god of mercy.
The founder was a faithful buddist. so he named the company as Kwanon. But the pronunciation was not so easy . So the company changed its name Canon.

Nikon corporation means Nippon Optics,ie, Nippon Kogaku by Japanese. So the company changed  its name to Nikon.

Olympus corporation was named Takachiho Seisakusho corporation.Takachiho is a mythical area in Japan.  Just fits for Olympus in Greece. So the corporation changed its name as Olympus.

Wow, Rikugien with snow scene is SO GORGEOUS☆☆☆ I've never seen "yukigakoi" and wish to see it someday p;)
Cherry tree with snow is beautiful, isn't it♡♡♡ I wish I could take pictures like yours of the apricot flower; blurry back is my dream :-)

Thank you very much for your comment. Yukituri is very famous in Kenrokuen garden in Kanazawa. Many metropolitan gardens would do this kind of Yukituri that the succession of the traditional technique is very important.

I know all about your snow as I have three Japanese girls staying, I have written about them in my blog last week and said I wish you were nearer to help!! The photos are lovely, it looks beautiful. It is very interesting to read about the camera companies and their names, as I am learning a lot about the issues of pronunciation.
