Canon ,Nikon and Olympus.
Canon INC was at first named Kwanon,Kwanon means the god of mercy.
The founder was a faithful buddist. so he named the company as Kwanon. But the pronunciation was not so easy . So the company changed its name Canon.
Nikon corporation means Nippon Optics,ie, Nippon Kogaku by Japanese. So the company changed its name to Nikon.
Olympus corporation was named Takachiho Seisakusho corporation.Takachiho is a mythical area in Japan. Just fits for Olympus in Greece. So the corporation changed its name as Olympus.

ReplyDeleteWow, Rikugien with snow scene is SO GORGEOUS☆☆☆ I've never seen "yukigakoi" and wish to see it someday p;)
Cherry tree with snow is beautiful, isn't it♡♡♡ I wish I could take pictures like yours of the apricot flower; blurry back is my dream :-)

Dear Miyako sama.
DeleteThank you very much for your comment. Yukituri is very famous in Kenrokuen garden in Kanazawa. Many metropolitan gardens would do this kind of Yukituri that the succession of the traditional technique is very important.
A simple in the snow will always look so outstanding.

Those poor blossoms are so brave blooming in the cold and snow ;>)....I hope they survive. You were brave to go outside to take pictures in that weather. Thanks for doing it ... it looks beautiful.

The photos are lovely, it looks beautiful. It is very interesting to read about the camera companies and their names, as I am learning a lot about the issues of pronunciation.
Enjoy the snow!

DeleteThank you very much for your comment. Many people in local areas are isolating even now. We had heavy snowfalls in many regions in our country. Thank you for reading about my camera information.

We all heard about the sudden heavy snow falls in Tokyo over the news. You were patient to snap the photos in the cold to share. Thank you so much.
ReplyDeleteYour beautiful shots reminds me of the Ansel Adams Gallery in San Francisco where he shot many snowy photos of Yosemite National Park, just like yours.
