FLOWERING TREES IN A BOTANICAL GARDEN

We went to Jindai botanical garden in Tokyo. I uploaded only flowering trees in this post.

調布の神代植物公園に行きました。 今回は木の花をアップしました。

Japanese big leaf magnolia.
 
朴の木(ホオノキ)、朴葉味噌を思い出します。
 
Kalmia.
 
カリミアです。
 
 
Rhodendron.
 
石楠花(シヤクナゲ)です。
 
 
Baika-Utugi.
 
梅花空木(バイカウツギ)です。
 
 
Sarasa-Utugi.
 
更紗空木(サラサウツギ)です。
 
 
 
Sarunashi.
 
猿梨(サルナシ)です。
 
Red horse-chestnut.
 
紅花栃の木(ベニバナトチノキ)です。
 
 
By macro lens.
 
 
 
Chinaberry.
 
栴檀(センダン)です。栴檀は双葉より芳し。の栴檀は白檀の事です。

    All of these photographs are wonderful, but oh my goodness, that magnolia! They are my very favorite flowers, but I have never seen one quite like this. So beautiful.

  9. こんにちは。一番びっくりしたのは奥様のデッサン。お上手ですね、美大のご卒業ですか。パステルかなんかで、淡い色をのせられると、もっと素敵な絵になりそうですね。写真ではカリミアは生まれて初めて見たような気がします。六十数年生きてきても、見たことがない草花がまだ沢山あるなんて長生きも楽しいかも、と思えます(笑)。神代植物公園も見所が沢山ありますね。

       神代植物公園は薔薇の庭園が満開でとても多くの人が来ていましたが、私はほとんど素通りしました。

  17. カリミアの花はアメリカのブロガーの方のポストで初めて知りました。ここでも見られるんですね。サラサウツギ(多分そのはず)は去年庭に植えましたが、今年花は咲いてくれるのかどうかまだわかりません。ハンカチの木はご存知でしたか?先日見ましたが、ほんとに白いハンカチがぶら下がっているようでした。
    奥様のスケッチをさりげなく紹介されて優しいご主人だなと思います。素敵なスケッチですね。

      こんばんは。カリミアはあまり見かけ無いです。ハンカチの木、ユリの木の花はもう終わってました。残念です。妻が女学生に「ヤバイ、ヤバイ」と褒められたり、外国人から写真に撮って良いかと聞かれて上機嫌だったので、妻への励ましでアップしました。

      奈良に行くと柿の葉寿司が有名で、食べた事は有りますが、朴の葉寿司は初めてです。関西に行ったら探してみます。
