A TRIP TO HOKKAIDO 2/2.

We went to Sounkyo via Biei.

This popular tree is very famous at Biei.

Mt.Aibetudake and other mountains. I took this photo from The Garden of the Forest.

B & W photo.

Sounkyo.

There are many colummer jointed stones in this area.

Closing up.

Gingano-Taki Falls.

Gingano=taki falls flow to Ishikari river.

Ryuuseino-Taki Falls.

Climbing up a hill,we could see both falls at a same time.

I could not take a nice shot, because the sun was above the falls.

We went to Obako.

Obako too.

THere were nice illumination lights at the hotel's lobby where we stayed.

Mottainai concept.

Each light was made by recycling milk-bottle.

It's very delicious to drink this milk.

Thanks for visiting this post.

  6. Nice photos. I had to view them a few times as they look like somewhere in Europe esp the range of snow capped mountains. I always loved the waterfalls and would dive in for a swim.
The hotel's idea of using the Mattainai concept is great and recycling the milk bottles is a brilliant idea too. I only noticed countries like China and Japan would drink milk from cute glass bottles. Here we use paper cartons instead.

  25. I'm amazed at so many lovely mountains and wild areas in a small island group like Japan, they do so well at preserving wilderness. I would love to look at the plants by the rushing stream and growing on the steep slopes by the waterfall. You got good shots even if backlit, Minoru. The recycled milk bottles make nice lighting.
