WILD FLOWER FIELDS IN HOKKAIDO.

 There are many wild flower fields in Hokkaido.  We visited two of them which are facing The sea of Okhotsk.


Lake Saromoko. サロマ湖です。


Wakka wild flower field is located between The sea of Okhotsk and Lake Saromako.

Koshimizu wild flower field is facing the sea.

小清水原生花園です。



There is a small railroad station at Koshimizu.

We could see many flowers in two flower fields.


Many lilies are in full bloom at the fields.

Thenbeng lily.


エゾキスゲです。



Japanese rose. ハマナスです。




エゾカワラナデシコです。



エゾフウロです。




ハマエンドウです。



ヨツバシオガマです。



センダイハギです。



Narcissus flycatcher. キビタキです。

We visited Lake Kkucharoko, and then Mt.Sulfur.

  8. We always hear that Hokkaido has many fields of flowers that make the places all smell sweet and nice. I often wondered why the flowers grow better in Hokkaido? Maybe it's the good fertile soil and temperature which is never too hot in summer.

    The photo of Lake Saromoko looks very misty and beautiful like heavens.
    I watched your amazing video of Mount Iozan and it's spewing out smoke! You must have filmed it from another higher mountain ~ Domo Arigato Gozaimas!

      Thank you very much for your comment. There is no rainy season in Hokkaido. Almost no cars on the rural roads. These are the reasons that we would go there many times. I took the video very near to the spewing smoke area. No risk to go there. I hope you will visit there in future.

  23. Another wonderful tour of Japan, I've never seen a field of wild lilies before. Your wildflowers are very interesting, some look like flowers here. The squirrel looks a lot like the chipmunks here. Mt. Sulfur is awe-inspiring and rather scary.

  27. 一口に北海道と言いますが、東北七県分の広さがあるのですね。あらためて驚きました。サロマ湖きれいですね。早朝に撮影されたのですか?原生花園駅....雰囲気ありますね。どんなディーゼルが走ってくるのでしょうか。

      こんばんは。 サロマ湖は、小さな山の砂利道を抜けて行くと展望台がありまして、そこから撮りました。
      小清水原生花園には、ボランティアの人がいて、「電車は滅多に来ませんよ」と言われました。調べてみたら、http://www.toretabi.jp/facilities/vol12/01.html でした。
       ワッカ原生花園のワッカとはアイヌ語で飲み水の事で、レンタサイクルを借りるとき、真水の井戸があるから、行くように言われました。 なんと、往復で1時間位係りました。 確かに井戸がありましたが、ただそれだけでした。サロマ湖とオホーツク海の間を走った事になります。
       ナイは川の事、稚内とは、アイヌ語で飲料に適する川だと分かりました。

      チャーミングな駅舎にしたら、電車は平凡な色の2両編成の電車でしたが、自然豊かな美しい村で、わざわざ色、模様、柄の電車で観光客をひきつける必要ないのですね。私、派手な電車けっこう好きなんですが。花畑の中を電車がのんびり走るの光景は愉快です。

  30. いいなあ、また北海道 に行けて、、、。たくさん旅行に行ってらしゃるので、飛行機のマイルもたまっているのでは、あはは。 きれいな花のあるところは癒されますね。硫黄が出ていると言うことは、温泉もあるんでしょうか? 匂いがきつそう、、、。小さい駅の写真が、愛らしいです。 ああーまた行ってみたい、北海道。 楽しいポストありがとうございました。
