Beautiful photos. I love seeing these historic sites. The mansion must have been huge and the gardens are beautiful. The Zen temple, with those massive trees leading up to the gate, is an impressive sight.

what beautiful temple and grounds. the main gate is pretty interesting.

This Maruoka jo castle tower looks so majestic and old yet well maintained till today. I always love the castles in Japan. Someone who is a psychic told me that I was a Japanese in my past life serving at the Kyoto castle. I find that amazing.
ReplyDeleteI love this snow covered steps to the Chujaku Gate and Hattou. The photos show nice contrasts.

Hello Minoru, I'm so happy I found your blog! These are GORGEOUS pictures (the ones at night especially)!
ReplyDeleteCan you imagine that someone would like a country even if she never travelled to it? Well, that's me and I really like Japan - and I even can't explain myself why :-) I live in Germany and just built a house last year with my husband - and my new garden is in Japanese style! I'm waiting for the spring to see all these azalea and cherries and magnolias blossom, I have several Japanese maple trees and I'm happy I found a nice Niwaki to plant in front of my door!
If you like, you can have a look at my blog, here are two articles I wrote about liking Japan: http://www.miss-red-fox.de/2014/10/faszination-japan.html and http://www.miss-red-fox.de/2014/12/tourist-in-japan-um-1900-eine.html .The translator widget should help translate the second one, I didn't have time to translate all of them...
All the best to you, I'll follow your blog!
Ioana
