Mt.Sakurajima is located in Sakurajima island.
We stayed in Sakurajima from morning until evening.
The mountain view from Shiroyama park in Mainland Kyusyu.
From Sengan-en.
Sengan-en is a former feudal lord' garden.
A big stone lantern a lion is located on the top.
We got on a car ferry with our rental car.
We arrived at the island.
Hibiscus blossoms and the mountain.
The gate of a shrine was almost buried by a big eruption.
The monument is written.
" There was an small island here, but became
an area of the part of Sakurajima island."
The highest observation area where sightseeing people can go.
We were exposed by volcanic ashes here.
We were expose by volcanic ashes here too.
On the water port, We could see the eruption clearly.
We were on a car ferry,
Good bye Mt.Sakurajima.
Thanks for visiting this post.

Dear Tomoko sama.
Deleteこんばんは。ありがとうございます。長渕剛さんの記念公園も行って来ました。オブジェが私の趣味に合わないので載せませんでした。
Beautiful photos. Thanks for sharing :-)

What a beautiful place and some fine photos. But an active volcano that close to a city is scary!

I've seen one volcano which simply smoked some - no lava, just a sulfer smell. It was an experience for me as I'd never seen one before. I believe an erupting volcano would give me a heart attack.

This is very impressive! I have seen some activity in volcanos but not something like this. Was it scary or everything seemed normal? What an experience!
ReplyDeleteDear Ruth.
DeleteThank you very much for your comment. It's common that the mountain would erupt many days.
The lasting eruptions would not become a new in this area.
I would be very thrilled and excited to see a volcano erupting out the ashes and smoke like this. This is the wonders of our mother nature. How far is this place from Tokyo?
ReplyDeleteThank you very much for your comment. Sakurajima is located in Kagoshima prefecture. Most southern prefecture in Kyusyu.
DeleteIt takes 1 hour and half from Tokyo by airplane.

you can find how to go there by above site.
Amazing experience to travel and see an active vulcano! Incredible aspects captured; as always, so lovely views, even with the ashes in the air...
ReplyDeleteAnd the feudal garden with blue iris blossoms is so beautiful, as all places seen!
Many thanks for such a great tour and interesting experience observed by you and family.
A great day and week, too!
