Ancient tombs from the sky. 空から見た、前方後円墳。

We looked ancient tombs from the sky.
Arriving at Yao airport in Osaka. We got on a reserved helicopter.

The largest one is as follows. His name is Nintoku Emperor.

The largest tomb in Japan,perhaps in the world.
仁徳天皇陵墓。

  19. The photos are very awesome and interesting. The tomb areas are definitely bigger than the largest ones I saw in China which belonged to their First Emperor Hwang Ti.

    I believe you took the helicopter ride to view but didn;t walk around the tombs. I wonder if they opened the tombs for public viewing like some in China.

  35. 上から眺めるとあらためて仁徳天皇陵がいかに巨大かがわかります。二条山もご覧になられたなら大和三山が大和平野に浮島のようにあるのをご覧になったのではないでしょうか。やや方向音痴の私も空からの長めで位置関係が分かるような気がしますが・・勇気がいります。いい旅でしたね。

  36. 面白いですね。実さん、こんな事出来て、かっこいいです。私は高所恐怖症なのでヘリコプターは無理かもしれません。
    ところで、来年三月に、また日本に旅行します。斎藤さんのお薦めの吉野山へ桜見物しようかと思っています。満開には早く、混雑を避けられると思いましたが、ちょうど春休みに入る頃で、結構大変かも?でも楽しみです。

    1. こんばんは。吉野の山の桜の最盛期は4月15日ごろです。山ですので3月はほとんど咲いていないと思います。
