  1. Great photos today. You should have been a botany scientists with great eyes on the nature's flora and fauna. Your post brings me memories again of my ex room mate who was born in Nagano and told me it was a countryside that comes alive as a resort during winters. I had no idea it has exciting lakes, falls, gorge and pretty wild flowers. I love these flowers esp the Yama~Hahako, Kinrobai and the vibrant Hushigurosennou! They are so unique to me and I believe you won't find them growing in Tokyo.

  6. I'm so impressed with all the beautiful mountains, waterfalls, and forests in Japan, I enjoy your travels. The wildflower photos are great, too, I have some similar plants growing here, the Yama Hahako looks just like a wildflower in my yard, here it is called Pearly Everlasting, Anaphalis margaritacea, how odd that it would grow here and there too.

  7. Incredible views, with so incredible aspects of nature, beautiful tiny and delicate blooms, unique trees at high altitudes... I love to go in the middle of nature and if I could choose a place from your images above, i'll prefer Misyagaike Pond, for the lirism of his vision.... Always a pleasure to have a walk through your camera lens!!
A good start in week for you and family!

  16. So beautiful Nagano is. I was tuned in to the Winter Olympics in Nagano in 1998 I believe it was when Tara Lipinski of USA won the gold medal in Women's figure skating. That was such a wonderful Olympics overall, still my fave.
