MIZUMOTO PARK IN TOKYO.

It's a Japanese iris season now. We went to Mizumoto park at Katusika in Tokyo.

On the way to the railroad station.
We visited a temple named Nanzoin.

There is a stone image of Jizo which is bound by ropes.

His face.

Why he is bound? Each people would bind the Jizo to offer a prayer with a vow.
When each one's wish granted, each people would untie the rope.

  4. Minoru

  10. What a serene and beautiful place! I can't believe it's in Tokyo! I love the hydrangeas, but the irises are my favorite - especially that lovely iris garden (I've never seen anything quite like it before) and your bokeh photo. Stunning! Your irises look quite different from the varieties I've seen here. The water lily garden is beautiful too ~ they always look so tranquil. And of course I love all the winged critters who were visiting the gardens that day too. :-)

Poor Jizo, I feel claustrophobic just looking at him!

    Have a nice day!
