THE SUNRISE ON NEW YEAR'S DAY.

We went to Izu peninsula in Shizuoka to stay the New Year's holiday.

The Sunrise started from 6:50 am at Imaihama beach.

Closing up.

Imaihama beach.

Sometimes,small waves.

Japanese wagtail.

The hotel where we stayed.

An alcove in the room.

Powdered green tea and a Japanese cake were served at first.

Next day,we went to Irozaki beach.

Irozaki,very beautiful beach.

But,Winds were very strong.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

We watched a new year concert by Wienna Philharmonic orcestra from TV,via satellite realtime relay. The conductor,Daniel Barenboim chose Hemp Palm of Peace as the first waltz music.

I realized why he chose the music that  this year is 100th year after World War Ⅰ.

In Japan, last music in many concerts, the song "Flowers will bloom" would be chosen  after the north eastern Japan grat earthquake.

"Flowers will bloom" was composed to support the sufferes at the earthquake.

I chose English Verson song by Il Divo.

I hope  many people would listen to this song.

    Flowers will bloom、

  12. Well, Minoru, you really lulled me with this beautiful, calming post! The sunrise was lovely, the beach so tranquil, the hotel serene, the green tea always a soother, and the incredible colors of that water at Irozaki just beautiful. Then POW, you hit me with that last dramatic shot and woke me back up!! :-) Loved this series! (The song was pretty too!)

Have a very Happy New Year, may you enjoy many new adventures in yet more beautiful places! Thank you for sharing them with us!

  13. The song is beautiful .... like the sunrise in your picture, it is a symbol of hope and starting fresh for the day and the New Year .. both particularly poignant when thinking about that terrible earthquake. Thank you for sharing the song and for your beautiful post. Happy New Year.

  19. Fantastic pictures!
