The biggest pine tree in Japan. 善養寺の影向の松。

There is the biggest pine tree in the precincts of  Zenyouji Tempe.

This tree is approximately 600 years old.

It's about 800 square meter wide.

This tree was brought up in a concept of making huge Bonsai.

Zenyouji Temple.

This temple is located by Edogawa river.

Chrysanthemum fair was held in this temple.

Please enjoy Japanese chrysanthemum flowers.

Two peacocks.

Fan.

  1. Wow! These Chrysanthemum flowers are my top favourite and I buy a bunch of 3 colours to offer at my prayer altar at home every week.
The Chrysanthemum Fair is very interesting with so many colours and different varieties on display. The pink and yellow sprays looked like fireworks!

I noticed that many temples and gardens in Japan would often display the big blooms and sprays of these pretty Chrysanthemum flowers. Some were as big as my face too. LOL

  7. That is amazing. I've never seen anything like this. Do they prune it to give it this sort of growing habit?

  9. A 600-year old tree -- wow! It doesn't look its age at all. All the crhysanthenums are beautiful. I don't see as many of them in gardens as I did as a kid.

  10. Beautiful colors have the flowers, Minoru. But today the prize is taken by that centenary tree.
    Un abrazo.
