SHOWA MEMORIAL PARK IN TOKYO.

Showa memorial park is located in the suburbs of Tokyo.

We looked many trees in this park.



A lawn field with a big Sawleaf zelkova tree.

Tall stewartia. ヒメシャラです。


Pine tree. 五葉松です。


This park is very big. We enjoyed here very much.

  3. The zelkova is really an impressive tree personality - the chestnut looks similiar to the sweet chestnut trees you can find in Southern Germany as well.
    And Japanese bonsais...
    ...the are an art of their own!

  8. Minoru, I like the way the paths are around the horse chestnut tree. These trees look old but very healthy. I have one bonsai given to me by a friend called horse tail bonsai. I love looking at them at the botanic garden.

  9. The Zelkova has an amazing spread. There are lots of Horse Chestnuts here, but I don't know about the other trees. I like the Japanese garden, they are always so neat and groomed, and the wonderful little bonzais, especially the pine tree, such an art.

  15. Love those huge trees! But also bonsai - I have a book how to start, but never come very far. If you do bonsai, I'm open to any suggestions:) The pine bonsai display is beautiful.
