ONE DAY TRIP AT KAMAKURA.

 The first Samurai Government was established at Kamakura in 1192 AD.

There are many sightseeing places at Kamakura,we visited there many times.

So we walked only historical sites this time.


We started our walking from Hoshoji Temple.


The gate of hoshoji Temple.

法性寺です。

The government made 7 sunken roads to protect it against enemies.

大切岸です。

One of the sunken road remains almost same as the  original.

名越の切通です。
There are two very small stone joss  houses along the road.


石廟です。 目的は不明です。



There is a kind of grave yard too.


A kind of grave yard.
This kind of grave yards were made Kamakura government era only.

まんだら堂の「やぐら」です。
鎌倉文化圏にだけ存在します。

Zooming up. Gorin towers. 五輪の塔です。

These small towers were made for memorial service for the dead.

There are many wild flowers along the road.


Deutzia.

卯の花、別名、ウツギです。
旧暦の4月は卯月、卯の花の咲く月から名づけられたと言われています。

Mother of thousands or Strawberry geranium. ユキノシタです。

トキワツユクサです。

Blue eyed grass.

ニワゼキショウです。

  3. Hi, Minoru! I've missed keeping up with your blog (and mine too, lol) - it's been a very busy and eventful spring. Your posts are always beautiful and fascinating, and this one is no exception. I love the photos of the sunken roads, and of course the beautiful flower photos for which you are famous. :-) I've enjoyed exploring cemeteries since I was a kid (really!), and have never seen anything like these, so I found them especially intriguing!

    法性寺からの散策、長~~く歩かれた事と思います。鎌倉時代の姿をとどめたお墓始めて見ました。鎌倉文化の歴史が残る道ですね。ズーミングアップしたお花達、よく見たらそれぞれに個性があって可愛いです。特にニワゼキショウが好きです。

      こんばんは。 「やぐら」という墓所はこの時代だけです。一説には、敦煌などの、石仏の文化の影響と言われています。 鎌倉時代には、宋、からたくさんの僧侶、が日本に来ています。
       シマウマは2頭でしたら、ワンワン、と鳴くかどうかは分かりません。 私は、テレビでその声を聴きました。

  11. The grave yard is fascinating, it looks like it was carved into the stone, like some cave dwellings. The sunken road is interesting too. I like the photos of the beautiful wild flowers, they look like some flowers found over here too, perhaps they were brought over here sometime. I just got a strawberry geranium and hope to keep it alive. It sounds like over there it spreads a lot.

  23. 鎌倉を訪れたのはもうずいぶん前で、あまり覚えていません。 ここらはまったく知りません。不思議な所ですよね。 歴史の勉強にもなりました。 写真がとてもいいです。 行ってみたいです。

  25. 禅宗が鎌倉幕府を中心に支持された歴史背景と鎌倉の地形が、京都、奈良の寺と違って見える気がします。まんだら堂のやぐらのようなものは確かに初めてみます。五輪の塔も素敵ですね。海あり、山あり、鎌倉は行ってみたいところです。
