A FREESIA SEASON IN HACHIJO ISLAND.

      We went to Hachijo island for 2 days. It takes 50 minutes from Tokyo by airplane.

 八丈島でレンタカーを借りたら、品川ナンバーでした。 ここは東京都です。

Freesia garden. フリージア畑です。


By macro lens.


We can pick up 20 pieces per person  by free charge for only sightseeing people. So we took 40 pieces with my wife.


we arranged them in our house. 妻が生けました。


We went to a botanical garden. At first we went to a green house.



Coral Hibiscus. 風鈴仏桑華です。


Anthurium. アンスリウムです。


Red ginger.


Going out the greenhouse,we walked in this garden.


Strelizia.( Bird of paradise flower.) ストレチアです。


A kind of Gentian. コケリンドウです。


Closing up.


Creeping bugleweed. キランソウです。

Violet. アツバスミレです。


Then we went to a vast expanse of lava seashore.


We found these flowers at the lava seashore.


A kind of spurge. イワタイゲキです。

We could see Hachijo kojima island.

We enjoyed this trip very much.

  11. Beautiful photos from you again. I was very surprised to see the Coral Hibiscus, so unusual and nice!
    Hachijo Kojima island looks exciting and isolated, anyone living there?

    This lava seashore is really majestic.It's amazing the way plants can adapt to such conditions.
    I like the idea of visiting freesia fields........do the have a perfume? Last week I bought a bunch at a flower stall but I've noticed in recent years that they have lost their wonderful smell.

  42. 八丈島は流刑の島だったんですね。黒々とした岩場の海岸が印象的です。コケリンドウは空に向かって笑っていて可愛い!奥様の春の寄せ植えも素敵。家の中は奥様の愛情とフリージアの香りに包まれていたでしょうね。

      こんばんは。ありがとうございます。よい香りがまだ、家の中で漂ってます。 島へは、飛行機で50分です。 団体客が多いせいか、案内標識も少なく、借りた車にはカーナビの付いていませんでした。
      人が少ないので、良かったです。

  46. I love fresias - we had them in my parents house quite often. They also smell so good!

    But I also like the flowers you found by the lava shore - and also all these picture of the shore, too. It's such a good contrast, the rough terrain vs. the pretty, delicate flowers!
