SAROBETU MARSH IN HOKKAIDO

Hokkaido is the northenmost district of Japan.  We went to Sarobetu Marsh in Hokkaido.
 稚内市のサロベツ原生花園に行きました。

Daylilies and Mt.Rishirizan.

There are mamy wildflowers inthis marsh.

Then we went to the neibourhood of Kouhone Swamp.

近くにあるホウホネ沼に行きました。

Japanese Roses would grow in colonies.

I took a thunberg lily from right above direction.

  2. I am always impressed with the wealth of wildflowers you show us. Love the rose but they are not really suitable in a garden as they sucker and would cover the whole garden. In Germany similar roses are used on freeway embankments where they can spread to their heart's delight ad the delight of those driving past.

  4. ハマナスが今シーズンなんですね。Japanese roseというのですか。まさにローズですものね。名前が有名な割には初めて目にするので、思っていたのとイメージが少し違いました。でも色も形も愛らしいですね。”北海道”という景色が広がっていて新鮮で清々しいな空気を一杯もらいました。

  11. こんにちは。利尻山が綺麗ですね。サギスゲ、ワタスゲは似てるけど別の種類なんですね。北海道の風に似合いそうな綿毛です。初歩的な質問で恐縮ですが、この綿毛のようなのは「花」なんですか、もしくは「葉」ですか。稚内にも利尻島にも礼文島にも行ったのですが、サギスゲ、ワタスゲには気づかずに帰ってきてしまい、今思うともったいなかったです。

       こんばんは。ワタスゲの花はとても地味で目立ちません。写真は果穂と言って実です。このワタスゲを見るととてもハッピーな気分になります。今回は礼文島だけ行きました。
       初夏からはいつ行っても楽しいと言われてます。
